Chief selector Inzimam-Ul-Haq said that our target is not only to beat India but win the champions trophy as well.
Remember that Pakistan will play their first match in champions’ trophy on June 4 against India.
Chief selector further said that in champions’ trophy 2004 in England at same ground under my captaincy Pakistan beat India by 3 wickets.
Inzimam said that we can win again and the team will work really hard to win the tournament.
He said that the win against West Indies has boosted the moral of whole team and they are very keen on giving their hundred percent, in this regard the training camp has been organized in Birmingham.
The seven players of Pakistan cricket team have left for England from West Indies. They include Shoaib malik, Muhammad Hafeez, Umar Akmal, Fakhar Zaman, Immad Waseem, Junaid Khan, Faheem Ashraf along with their captain Sarfarz Ahmed.
Ahmed Shahzad could not leave for England due to his mother’s illness, however he will join on 18th of May.
Pakistan will play their practice matches on 27th of May against Bangladesh and on 29th of May against Australia before the event starts.
Pakistan team will play their opening match on 4th of June against the traditional rival and the defending champion India and after that Pakistan will face on 7th of June South Africa and 12th of June Sri Lanka.
