ICC Champions Trophy Is Tougher Than World Cup: Virat Kohli

The Indian skipper Virat Kohli said that ICC champions trophy is tougher than world cup and eight best teams will participate in the event however India will have to give their best to defend the title.


India won the ICC champions trophy in 2013 under Mahindra Singh Dhoni’s captaincy however having won the 10 test matches at home and played quality cricket in IPL once again the Indian team is regarded as the most favorite team to win ICC champions trophy 2017 next month.

Virat Kohli said that due to having hunger for win and dealing with opponent with no mercy we performed well in test matches in recent season.

Indian team does have eight of the players who were the part of the winning team in 2013 ICC champions trophy along with some other younger players will be in action.

Kohli considers the experienced Dhoni and Yuraj as the pillars of the Indian side and said that both of them have guts to perform in middle order and win the match as well.

India will start their jurney by playing against the arch rival Pakistan which is being considered the most crucial match in the event by the cricket experts but Kohli says that India – Pakistan clash is just a match.

India will take on Pakistan on 4th of June and then they face Sri Lanka and South Africa.
