Where Misbah-Ul -Haq and Younis Khan have got golden opportunity to end their career by performing well against West Indies, there also they have got great challenge to retain fifth position in ICC test team ranking.
In ICC test ranking Azhar Ali is on 7th, Younis Khan 8th and Asad Shafiq, Sarfaraz Ahmed and Misbah-Ul -Haq are on 24,25 and 26th positions.
Younis Khan has also been number one batsman in ICC testranking in February 2009 when he scored triple century against Sri Lanka and he retained this position for 72 days.
After becoming the skipper of Pakistan cricket team Misbah-Ul -Haq performed consistently well due to which he remained among the best fifteen players in ICC test ranking for five years from November 2011 to December 2016.

Pakistan has once become the number one team in ICC test ranking by leveling the series 2-2 against England in England. But after that green shirts lost six test matches out of eight due to which they had great decline in test ranking.
Pakistan won the test series 2-1 against West Indies in UAE then green shirts cleaned sweep by New Zealand 2-0 and by Australia 3-0 which caused a huge decline in ICC test ranking.
In case of winning the series against West Indies 3-0 Pakistan can sustain their 5th position by achieving two very crucial points.
In case of winning the series by 2-1 Pakistan will be awarded 1 point and West Indies will lose 1 point.
If West Indies clean sweep in the series by 3-0, Pakistan will lose eight points and West Indies will achieve same points and winning the series by 2-0 the host side points will jump to 77 and Pakistan 91.
If West Indies win the series 1-0 or 2-1, Pakistan will have to lose five points while West Indies will achieve six points.
